Refurbishments

As part of our drive towards a more sustainable operation and a reduction in our carbon footprint, we offer a refurbishment service for old motifs and features.

Our refurbishment team can thoroughly assess a frame and provide a quote to make your old motifs and features sparkle again. Refurbishing existing motifs and features reduces the often planet harming use of raw materials required to manufacture new frames. Refurbished frames with new lights look vibrant and fresh, at a fraction of the cost of new motifs and features.

All refurbished motifs and features are PAT tested to ensure your electrical appliances are safe to use. The process involves a visual inspection for damage, followed by electrical tests to check for faults. Each motif or feature is then labeled with a pass sticker, providing peace of mind that your lights are safe and compliant.

The Refurbishment Process

1. Assessment and Inspection

We begin by thoroughly inspecting the existing motif or feature for any damage or wear and tear. This includes checking frame integrity, wiring, electrical enclosures, lighting and any decorative elements, such as baubles.

2. Disassembly

After inspection, we carefully disassemble the motif or feature, separating out lights, decorative elements and the frame. This ensures each part can be individually examined and refurbished.

3. Frame Repair

If applicable, we will repair any structural damage on aluminium frames, such as welding broken joints or reinforcing weak areas. Once the aluminium frame is repaired, we'll repaint where necessary. Any structural damage to 3D Printed frames will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

4. Electrical System Overhaul

Where necessary, we will replace old wiring with new wiring that meets current safety standards, installing new connectors, electrical enclosures, and secure all wiring to reduce potential issues in the future.

5. Lighting Upgrade

As part of the refurbishment process, we'll replace any old filament, faulty, dim or low quality light with energy-efficient LED lights. The LED lighting, whether rope light, light strings or bulbs, consume less power, have a longer lifespan and offer brighter, more vivid colours.

6. Decoration Restoration

We will then restore or replace any decorative elements, such as baubles. If carpet or garland needs replacing, we offer alternatives such as filling the area with light strings.

7. Reassembly

After all parts have been refurbished, we carefully reassemble the components, ensuring all parts fit securely and are properly aligned.

8. Quality Check

After reassembling the motif or feature, we'll perform a final quality check, ensuring the motif or feature meets aesthetic, electrical and safety standards.
